Here are some answers to questions that I get asked most often, I hope they help!

Where to start with CatyCatherine.com

Can I order your freebie from my mobile phone?

Sure! Of course you can! I know it’s not always possible to get to your laptop or computer, so good news is you can use my site on your mobile and checkout from there. You’ll still receive your confirmation and download link as normal. Just head back to download from a laptop or computer when it’s more convenient.

How do I get one of your freebies?

All you need do is find the current freebie, select the standard commercial licence for up to 300 items and add it to cart. You can select the unlimited licence (and should, if you’re planning on making more than 300 items with the design), but you will need to pay the difference. Go to your shopping bag and checkout. Upon completion of checkout you will receive an order confirmation on screen and will receive two emails. One is an order confirmation for your reference and the other includes your download link. Download the file and unzip, then you’re good to go!

I believe you offer a daily freebie? Is this correct?

Yes! I certainly do! Each day of the year I will create a new file and offer it free for 24 hours or so. After this the file is still available to purchase from the site.

So, you offer a Commercial Licence on your designs?

Yes, by standard too! My standard licence which you receive automatically covers both personal and commercial use. The licence allows you to create up to 300 items with my design. If you require a licence for greater than 300 items, you will need to purchase the unlimited licence. HOWEVER, the licence does not allow:

  • Use of my designs on third party printing sites such as Zazzle and other similar sites. The licence covers YOU for YOU to make items.
  • Share the downloaded files. This is strictly prohibited and I will take action if I find somebody doing this. Do not upload the original files or artwork to Facebook Groups.
  • Use the files – or any part of them – to create and sell your own designs and sell or share in digital format.
What are your support hours Caty?

Well, to answer in short, I don’t really have set hours! Just contact me anytime. The only time you may find a delay in me responding is if I’m asleep (I’m in the UK, so GMT time) or if my little man is demanding my attention. You’ll find me super approachable and I’ll always get back to you at my earliest convenience.

What is an SVG?

SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphic. This just means that an image in this format can be scaled up or down in size without losing image quality or the image becoming pixelated.

Why am I being sent a ‘Sign In’ link via email to create an account?

This is a security measure to verify your account. You should receive the Sign In link immediately after request – if not, check your spam folder. Once you click this link, you will be signed in to catycatherine.com and will not need to do this again unless you actually sign out of your account. This is per device. You DO NOT need to do this every time you visit.

Orders & Downloads

Can I download your files to my smart phone or tablet?

No, my files should be downloaded to a computer.

Do you offer refunds?

Due to the nature of my products I DO NOT offer refunds. If you misplace your file, I’d be happy to send over a replacement. Please just contact me with your request and order number.

How do I receive my SVG files?

You will be presented with an order confirmation on screen once you’ve completed checkout, you can download them instantly from here. You will also receive a download link via email and you may also visit your order history in your ‘My Account’ section.

How many download attempts do I get?

You have 3 download attempts before your download link expires. This is a security measure to prevent unauthorised sharing of my designs and hard work. If you experience any issue with this or have a genuine reason for needing to renew your links, please contact me and I will renew. Please let me know your order number to speed up the process.

I can’t seem to find my email that includes the download link?
I’m having trouble downloading my files, what could the issue be?

If you’re clicking on the download link and nothing happens, there’s a possibility that there is an issue with your current web browser. Try disabling any non-standard add-ons or toolbars and try again. If this still doesn’t work, contact me.

If you’re computer states that the file is corrupted, delete the file and try downloading it again. If you still can’t open the file, contact me.

If your computer is unable to open the file, make sure you have some compatible software.

If the file is taking too long to download and it times out, it may be due to the file being large in size. This happens when the zipped folder contains a large number of files. Make sure you have strong WiFi signal and that you don’t have any file size restrictions on your network.

Is there a time limit to me downloading my purchases?

Currently, NO! If this changes, I will let you know. Your download links are good for the three download attempts regardless of time passed.

What do I receive in my download?

All files within your digital download come in a compressed zip folder that will require unzipping before you can use the files. The formats you receive for our specific design(s) will be noted on the product page.

Software Compatibility

Are your files compatible with Cricut cutting machines?

Yes! My files are compatible with Cricut Design Space.

Are your files compatible with Silhouette cutting machines?

Yes! My files are compatible with Silhouette Studio, though you need to have Silhouette Studio Designer Edition and not the basic edition to be able to import SVG’s.

.studio files are proprietary to Silhouette America, and their sale by any third party is strictly prohibited. Hence why I don’t and can’t include this format with your download.

Can you suggest any SVG compatible software?

I use a bunch of different software depending on my mood or requirements, but my main go to is Adobe Illustrator. Other software programs available include Silhouette Studio, Cricut Design Space, Inkscape (this one is FREE!), CorelDraw, Canvas Software & eCal Software. Some are specific to certain cutting machines.

Do I need any specific software to use your files?

To be able to use my SVG files you will need to have some SVG compatible software installed.

How can I get notified of your daily freebies?

I actually offer you a few ways to keep updated, you shouldn’t have to miss a freebie again!

  1. View the website! The website is updated with the new freebie as it goes live! The current freebie is always listed towards the bottom of all pages! (If you don’t believe me….see below 😉 )
  2. Sign up to my newsletter! A daily newsletter is sent out showcasing the new freebie. I may also send out other newsletters where appropriate.
  3. Like my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/catycatherinedesigns/) and turn on notifications to ‘See First’ so that I don’t get lost in your newsfeed!
  4. Allow my site to send you push notifications. When visiting my site you’ll see a pop up that says ‘This site would like to send you notifications’. Click Allow and you’ll get notified directly on your laptop or mobile phone when I post a freebie!

Your Data & Privacy

How does catycatherine.com protect my information?

My site uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layered) technology to ensure that your information is fully encrypted and sent across the Internet securely. Any payment details you provide is then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction, your payment details will not be stored on my servers. Payment details are not required for FREE orders.

What do you do with my personal information?

I do not sell, trade or transfer any of your personal information to outside parties. Any third parties who assist me in my day to day running of my business, who become privy to such information (for example my bulk mail software requires access to emails) are subject to strict guidelines that keep such information confidential.

What personal information do you collect?

In order to shop on my site and create an account, my shopping cart software requires your name, email, phone (optional) and mailing address.
